Retreat FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is a visa required to travel to Mexico?

A tourist visa is required and will be given free of charge upon entry into Mexico. The forms are generally given out on your international flight prior to arrival in Mexico. You must have a valid U.S. passport. For assistance with getting a new U.S. passport, or renewing, check out the passport information page. For citizens of other countries, please contact the airline you are traveling for information on entry/visa requirements.

2. Which airport do I fly into?

Campeche International (CPE) is only 10 minutes from the hotel, however 90 minutes away is the Merida Rejon International (MID), and it is usually more affordable.

Airlines serving the Merida airport include: American Airlines, Delta Airlines, JetBlue, United Airlines, US Airways, AeroMexico, Volaris and Interjet.

Airlines serving the Campeche airport include: Delta Airlines/AeroMexico and Interjet.

3. Is there transportation provided to/from the airport?

Yes! Transportation to and from either airport is included in the conference ticket. If flying into Merida Rejon, please plan to arrive on Wednesday, March 9th before 4pm, and leave Sunday March 13th after 9am as there will only be one shuttle available.

Upon arrival, look for someone with a Como Blog Retreats welcome sign right outside the Immigration and Customs area. A Como Blog staff member will invite you to climb aboard your air-conditioned bus and enjoy your included roundtrip airport transfer from the airport to Campeche. From Merida it is a 90 minute ride to the hotel, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the magnificent scenery.

We will have a place for you to list your travel info and arrival/departure times for us later on.

4. May I book additional nights if I wish to extend my stay?

Yes, please mention this when complete your registration. Additional nights are not included in the cost of your conference fee and will not receive the special discounted conference rate, but we can help you make those arrangements if you would like to arrive earlier or stay longer. There may also be an additional airport transportation fee.

5. My family wants to come with me. What fees are associated with bringing family members?

If the extra person will be attending the conference, they will need to purchase their own ticket. You may choose each other as roommates on the registration form. To inquire about bringing more people, please contact Katie Hornor via email at media@comoblog.com or call (864) 400-8309.

6. How much cash should I bring?

Your conference ticket covers 4 meals (see schedule). You will be responsible for the other meals. We recommend budgeting $20-30/day per person. The total price for planned excursion admission (Mayan ruins, Campeche tours) will be approx $50, plus whatever you wish to bring for souvenir shopping.

Taxis around town cost approximately $4 each way if you wish to go to Wal-Mart, Office Depot, fast food restaurants etc. Wal-Mart and larger stores will take credit cards, but taxis and local vendors only accept cash. The hotel staff will be able to schedule taxis for you.

US dollars are not accepted in Campeche, however you can use your credit/debit card in any of the many ATMs to withdraw Mexican pesos. Please be sure to alert your bank to the dates of travel and check with them as to any foreign ATM charges that may apply.

Resort Casual: Shorts, skirts, or jeans, t-shirts or polo shirts. Good walking shoes.

Though Campeche is located on the Gulf of Mexico, our city does not have a local beach. There is, however, a beautiful boardwalk covering several miles along the water’s edge, where beautiful sunsets can be seen nightly. The hotel swimming accommodations will be confirmed when the hotel information is released a few weeks prior to your arrival.

Hotel specific will be released to registered attendees a few weeks prior to arrival.
